DESCRIPTION
Ephemeral is a spatial installation composed of a suspended seed-like sculptural form, multiple mirrored surfaces, and four video projections distributed across walls and floor. Within the central suspended structure, headphones transmit the poem Ephemeral, creating an intimate auditory encounter within the larger visual field.
Projected imagery, reflected light, and fragmented surfaces generate a shifting environment in which viewers move between projection and reflection. The installation unfolds as an immersive perceptual field rather than a single focal object.
CONTEXT
The work addresses the instability of time when memory falters. If a name disappears, if a house can no longer be recalled, what remains?
Rather than narrating loss, the installation constructs a threshold space where presence and absence coexist. Projection and reflection overlap; the viewer’s image becomes part of a cycle of growth, bloom, erosion, and silence.
Through sound, suspended form, and shifting reflections, Ephemeral treats memory not as archive but as fragile, ecological process.
