Invite me into your silence

Description

Invite Me Into Your Silence is a participatory installation structured around durational listening and temporal inscription. Within a translucent tent installed inside the gallery, participants enter individually and articulate a future-oriented desire.

Through a brief guided exchange, the artist refines the language into a written declaration that is read aloud, dated for a future moment, sealed, and returned to the participant.

The work treats listening as medium and language as performative structure.

Context

The installation extends Baquero’s investigation of liminal environments — spaces that exist between exposure and protection, presence and anticipation. The tent functions as a temporary threshold within the gallery, isolating intimacy inside a public setting.

By formalizing desire into document and time marker, the work examines how language shapes temporal awareness without guaranteeing outcome. Rather than offering resolution, it situates aspiration within uncertainty, constructing a quiet architecture of becoming.
